Salvatore Giunta is the first living person since the Vietnam War to receive the Medal of Honor. He received the award for his actions in saving the lives of his squad members during a firefight in Afghanistan. He is an inspiration to Italian American service members across the armed forces (U.S. Navy Graphic by MC2 Zachary Bender).
