U.S. Navy Command Master Chief Peter T. Torres, the incoming command master chief of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, speaks during a change of charge ceremony on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Dec. 15, 2022. A change of charge ceremony is conducted in order to capture the passing of duties from one Command Master Chief to the next. In a Marine Corps unit, the command master chief functions as the principle U.S. Navy enlisted advisor to the commander in order to facilitate naval integration and keep the command aware of welfare and morale of its Sailors.
