PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A Pensacola, Florida-area community member places a wreath at the headstone of a service member interred at Barrancas National Cemetery during the Wreaths Across America Day Dec. 17. Wreaths Across America Day - observed annually on the third Saturday in December - boasts a mission of remembering, honoring and teaching carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at more than 3,400 locations across the United States, at sea and at some foreign cemeteries. Nearly 26,000 wreaths were placed on gravesites at Barrancas National Cemetery.
