This illustration was created for the NSWC Crane MERMAAIDS (Maritime, Electro-Optical, Radio-frequency, Multi-spectral, Acoustical, Autonomous, Intelligent, Decoy, Systems) Project. MERMAAIDS are muti-agent unmanned vehicles that are equipped with non-lethal/non kinetic payloads. The graphic depicts three robotic “MERMAAIDS” who are embodiments of the multi-function capabilities of the project. The figure on the right is equipped light emitting from the eyes to depict the optical capability. The figure on left is generating soundwaves to convey the acoustical aspect. The center figure holds an electrified trident that is symbolic of electrical power aspect of the project. This graphic is used in internal and external communications involving the MERMAAIDS project. The graphic was digitally drawn with Procreate and further enhanced using Adobe Photoshop. 2 versions were created to provide versatility in their use. (U.S. Navy graphic by Victoria Baker).
