LITTLE ROCK AIR FORCE BASE, Ark. - Col. Charles W. "Wes" Nichols, Jr. is promoted to the rank of brigadier general in a ceremony here Jan. 7, 2023. Nichols joined the Arkansas Air National Guard in 1985 as an Avionics Flight Control System Specialist. He received his commission at the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base in November 1992. He has served at multiple levels of command in the Arkansas National Guard. Prior to his current position, Gen. Nichols served at the National Guard Bureau as Deputy Director for Manpower, Personnel, Recruiting and Services.
