An M728 Combat Engineer Vehicle loads a container of refuse onto the flatbed of a Heavy Equipment Transport vehicle, to be hauled out of a new combat outpost under construction near downtown Mosul, Iraq, Jan. 23. U.S. Army combat engineers have been working day and night to clear debris and erect protective walls around the new compound, which is to house Iraqi security forces and Soldiers from the U.S. Army's 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, based out of Ft. Hood, Texas.
