The U.S. Marine Corps reactivates MCB Camp Blaz

U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division, stand at parade rest during the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Blaz Reactivation and Naming Ceremony at Asan Beach, Guam, Jan. 26, 2023. The ceremony officially recognized the activation and naming of Naval Support Activity, MCB Camp Blaz after Marine Barracks Guam was deactivated on Nov. 10, 1992. The future relocation of forces to Guam honors the Defense Policy Review Initiative, an international agreement with the Government of Japan, and it secures a Marine Corps posture in the Indo-Pacific region that is geographically distributed, operationally resilient and politically sustainable.
