This Fort Riley Friday we check out the Fort Riley Main Exchange, 2210 Trooper Drive in Camp Forsyth. This newer Exchange opened February 13, 2009 replacing the older Exchange on Custer Hill. (However, that facility would remain open.)
The 24-million dollar facility offers customers about 120,000 square feet in
which to shop and dine. The extra space means that existing departments were expanded by 33 to 400 percent, with the electronics area seeing the biggest increase.
New departments were added, such a firearms department and the Power Zone Technician area where experts fix broken electronics. New stores included Starbucks, Game Stop and a Kansas souvenir shop. The new Exchange also features an arched ceiling running the length of the building giving it a more open feeling.
