Lt. Gen. Matthew G. Upon graduation and commissioning as a second lieutenant the U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen will receive orders to The Basic School followed by the Cyberspace Operations Officers Course. Upon completion of their primary military occupational school (PMOS) they will earn the 1702 MOS, Cyberspace Warfare Officer. New Cyberspace Warfare Officers typically fill roles on the Marine Corps' Defensive and Offensive cyber teams, where they gain experience across the field of cyberspace operations.
