Berth 6 at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, which is pier space for a submarine, was placed in service in 1909 and is getting a facelift – literally! With oversight from Officer in Charge of Construction Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, this project is modernizing the berth at Dry Dock #2 by providing nearly 1,000 feet of combination raised seawall/utility trench above grade for projected FEMA 100-year flood protection, as well as convenient access to distributed utilities.
