Mr. Lee dePersia, Environmental Engineer with the 111th Attack Wing’s Civil Engineering Squadron here, briefs Senator Frank Farry, Pennsylvania State Senator representing the 6th Senate District in Bucks County, inside a water treatment facility during a tour to review progress in improving the quality of base drinking water and groundwater/storm water run-off on Biddle Air National Guard Base in Horsham, Pennsylvania, Feb. 10, 2023. The tour, which was also led by Pennsylvania Air National Guard Lt. Col. Lydia R. Stefanik, 111th Civil Engineering Squadron Commander and Base Civil Engineer, included visits to various monitoring sites for Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) in the groundwater, a new water treatment plant constructed for the base in 2017, and the new large-capacity surface water treatment system that went into operation Aug. 17, 2021.
