230228-N-N0443-3111 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 28, 2023) Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC) and Director, Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization and Sustainment (SEA 21), Rear Adm. Eric Ver Hage, visits Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) Detachment Western Pacific (WESTPAC), onboard Fleet Activities, Yokosuka, Feb. 28., to see Surface Training Advanced Virtual Environment – Combat Systems (STAVE-CS) training solutions first-hand. Ver Hage’s tour includes the Multi-Mission Tactical Trainer, AEGIS Weapon System Virtual Operator Trainer (VOT), and the newly renovated spaces for the Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) VOT and Anti-Submarine Tactical Air Controller (ASTAC) Trainer. These trainers are part of the Director, Surface Warfare’s (OPNAV N96) program of record, STAVE-CS, which was introduced in 2015 as a means to provide better quality training resulting in more rapid qualifications of our Sailors. They also align to the Navy’s Ready Relevant Learning (RRL), a program created to improve and modernize personnel management and training systems. These innovative technical solutions increase the amount of “reps and sets” Sailors perform on tactical software, significantly improving the quality of training and maximizing knowledge retention.
