(Feb. 17, 2023) A member of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 1 Expeditionary Mine Counter Measure (ExMCM) Company 1-3 monitors a towline while performing a raise, tow, beach operation for simulated fuel bladders in support of forward arming and refueling point (FARP) operations with Marines from I Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Feb. 17. During the raise, tow, beach operation of simulated fuel bladders, Sailors and Marines teamed to localize the fuel bladders, attach them to a tow system, and safely transport them ashore as part of an Expeditionary Advance Base Exercise (EABX). EABX is an integration of Navy and Marine Corps forces that supports innovation of tactics, techniques and procedures for use in the littoral environments of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command. EODMU-1 is a component of EOD Group (EODGRU) 1 that clears explosive hazards to provide access to denied areas, employs advanced tactics and technologies to exploit and secure the undersea domain for freedom of maneuver, builds and fosters relationships with trusted partners, and protects the nation.
