U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Manuel Dirciosanchez, a mobile facility technician with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 41, Marine Aircraft Group 41, 4th Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), offloads aviation support equipment onto Military Sealift Command Wright-class aviation logistics support ship SS Curtiss (T-AVB 4) on Naval Base San Diego, California, March 13, 2023. Marines from 3rd MAW and 4th MAW worked together with U.S. Merchant Marines assigned to the Curtiss to utilize several different types of heavy lift equipment to load aviation support assets in preparation for Exercise Immortal Warrior. Immortal Warrior is an exercise led by MALS-16, 3rd MAW and MALS-24, 1st MAW to demonstrate the opportune lift, forward depot-level aviation maintenance, and battle-damage repair capabilities that the T-AVB provides Marine aviation.
