Defense Centers for Public Health-Aberdeen data show an average of two to three Soldiers have died and over 1,000 others have experienced exertional heat illness, or EHIs, from warm body conditions and vigorous physical activities each year. EHIs occur year-round but increase as the weather gets warmer, especially at temperatures above 75 degrees Fahrenheit. (Graphic illustration courtesy Defense Centers for Public Health-Aberdeen).
