JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 4, 2023) - Hospital Corpsman 1st Class Cheryce Tinaynan, a certified occupational therapist assistant at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, performs a massage on a patient to prevent scars from becoming hard, raised and to prevent them from sticking to underlaying tissues which can limit movement. Tinaynan, a native of the mountain region of the Philippines, says, “I am here to care for our patients and assist them in making the best possible recovery. My goal is to help patients regain their independence and return to performing their daily tasks and activities they love.” April is Occupational Therapy Month, celebrating this profession that helps people find ways to do their daily activities and live better with injury or illness.
