Established in 1995, the Al-Abraaj Factory for Metal Industries is a well-known company in the Hamdan Industrial Area of #Basrah.
The company provides various products and services, including electric and solar-powered water heaters, metal shelving, steam appliances, storage units, caravan fabrication, sheds, telecom towers, doors, and windows. Its aging machinery has limited its growth potential and necessitated outsourcing orders.
The USAID-funded Tahfeez project supported Al-Abraaj Factory's efforts to expand its presence in the local market by providing a state-of-the-art computer-controlled laser-cutting machine. The new technology will help boost the facility's capacity by modernizing its cutting techniques, increase sales by about 20 percent, and create nine new jobs in the first year.
