Data is collected on nearby tagged Lake Sturgeon at the Melvin Price Locks and Dam by biologists that look for fish of reproductive size. These Lake Sturgeon are tracked to study their life history attributes, migratory patterns, and environmental variables. The tracking of the state endangered species is being facilitated by the Sustainable Rivers Program partnership between the St. Louis District, U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Missouri Department of Conservation.
