Mr. Dakota Hoeppner, an Electronics Technician, in Code 210 Fleet Technical Assist, Hawaii Reginal Maintenance Center (RMC), Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & IMF (PHNSY & IMF), poses in front of USS Ashland (LSD 48), a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, April 13, 2023. Recently Ashland, which is homeported at North West RMC and is a class of ship rarely supported at Hawaii RMC, PHNSY & IMF, had an emergent issue which caused a delay in getting her underway. Given the need to return her to sea quickly, Hoeppner stepped up to quickly fix the problem. Despite the issue being outside his normal scope of support he was able to quickly troubleshoot and repair the issue.
