Students from the San Diego Mathematics Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) Alliance listen Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Facilities Manager Andy Anderson describes the SPAWAR Workspace Information Management System (SWIMS). Mathematics, electrical and aerospace engineering students representing MESA schools San Diego State University, Southwestern College, San Diego City College and Borrego Springs High School visited SPAWAR as part of MESA Shadow Day events. As the Navy's Information Dominance systems command, SPAWAR supports STEM initiatives and encourages students to pursue careers in the high-demand science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
