Retired Chief Warrant Officer 4 William Splichal, 99-years-old, conducts the Nebraska National Guard's 43rd Army Band Soldiers and alumni through John Philip Sousa's Golden Jubilee, during a 75th anniversary concert, June 3, 2023, at the Wildewood Park in Ralston, Nebraska. The Nebraska Army National Guard's 43rd Army Band celebrated 75 years of service with the anniversary concert, inviting alumni of the band to join with current members to perform a variety of songs, including many patriotic numbers. Splichal, a former bandmaster for the unit since it's inception, and who served during World War II and the Korean War, traveled from Texas for the 75th anniversary event.
