“Being an Army dad is a balance between duty to country and love for those that love you. Food for thought: If you work all day and night for 1 year… more work will always be there. If you ignore your loved ones all day and night for 1 year… your loved ones may not always be there. When you hang up the uniform, the Army keeps rolling along and you are left with the relationships you formed with your spouse and kids. Did you take time to cultivate and strengthen the roots of those relationships? Or did they over-ripen and die on the vine? I’m happy to say I continue to cherish the time I have with our two kids. I am proud of my service, but I am thankful for my wife and kids.”
