U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit conducts a casing of the colors ceremony at Naval Base Guantanamo Bay

U.S. Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Linda Fagan returns a salute to members of the Port Security Unit (PSU) 305 as she enters the unit’s decommissioning and casing of the colors ceremony, June 13, 2023, concluding the unit’s nine-month mission serving at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba.

PSUs are a Coast Guard deployable specialized force that have served Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay as the Maritime Security Detachment for over 21 years. The Virginia-based PSU 305 was the first PSU deployed to Guantanamo Bay in 2002 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, and this tour completes their fifth unit deployment.
