Avenger air defense system enhances 4th Infantry Division readiness during Baltic Zenith exercise

An AN/TWQ-1 Avenger, operated by the Florida Army National Guard’s 3rd Battalion, 265th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, supporting 4th Infantry Division Artillery, readies to fire at a flare overhead during M3P .50-caliber machine gun live fire training as part of exercise Baltic Zenith held near Jurmalciems, Latvia, June 13. The Avenger air defense system is a fully automated, highly mobile, short-range air defense system able to acquire, identify, track and engage targets from a stationary or moving position. The 4th Inf. Div.'s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe.
