U.S. Army Capt. Matthew Jordan, J-7 (Engineer) project officer, and U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Isaiah Sanders, J-3 (Operations) battle captain, both with Joint Task Force-Bravo out of Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, assemble a tent June 11, 2023, as part of a multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster response exercise in Panama City, Panama. The U.S. Southern Command Situational Assessment Team (SSAT) is a quick-reaction deployable team comprised of experts that provide the commander an immediate assessment of conditions and unique Department of Defense requirements which might be needed during humanitarian assistance or disaster response events throughout Central America.
