U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ryan Lewis, an MV-22B Osprey crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, gives a safety brief before a mass casualty exercise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Coral Sea, June 27, 2023. The exercise tested the responsiveness and coordination of a Marine Air-Ground Task Force to rescue and treat numerous casualties at once. Lewis is a native of Ocean City, Maryland. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
