U.S. Marine Corps Sgt Aaron Moore, Intelligence Analyst, assigned to II MEF Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG) looks at a map at EOTG Headquarters, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, May 16, 2023. His role at EOTG is to assist in creating he scenario for the MEU pre-deployment training program exercises and directly contributes to the training and development of forces by providing them with realistic situations allowing them to train for real world events they would encounter. One of the challenges of the job is ensuring that all the training events flow well with each other as they are continuously changing just like real-life events would. Moore ensures the scenario is effective and enhances the location’s exercises are taking place.
"I think the most important skill to have in the job is retaining information and knowledge," Moore said. "The only way to get better in the job to so continue to learn and grow from more experienced individuals. My previous units and leaders have set me up for success by teaching and mentoring and allowing me to grow as an analyst."
EOTG plays an integral role in ensuring that outgoing MEUs are ready to respond as a forward-deployed, sea-based MAGTF, capable of conducting amphibious operations as a crisis-response force-in-readiness, as well as conducting contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations.
