USAID supported Vivi Oil, a woman-owned agribusiness based in Sulaymaniyah. This "xomali" (meaning local in Kurdish) business makes a variety of oils and other products from sunflowers, sesame seeds, and other locally-grown ingredients. [Image 1 of 10]
With a grant from USAID's Agribusiness Accelerator Program, Vivi Oil received two filling machines to automatically fill bottles, a step that used to be done manually.
Investing in local businesses like Vivi Oil not only helps support the local economy but also contributes to a better future for the community.
