Charlie, a yellow Lab, is one of three facility dogs at the Naval Medical Readiness and Training Unit, Norfolk, Virginia. Charlie is an honorarily commissioned U.S. Navy captain who, along with Cpt. Patty Mac, and Cpt. Izzy help destress patients and staff and improve mental health during their everyday rounds. Charlie lets his handler, U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tracy Krauss, know when it's time to move on by putting his leash in his mouth. (Photo by U.S. Navy Cmdr. Tracy Krauss, NMRTU Norfolk)
