Hundreds of thousands of marine mammals and sea turtles die yearly from entanglement on fishing nets and gear. Spotted by crew from the Coast Guard Cutter MOHAWK the sea turtle here is rescued from a fishing net and then freed into the Atlantic Ocean. The Service’s mission of protecting living marine resources is critical to saving endangered marine life.
