230713-YC581-N-2009 PACIFIC OCEAN (July 13, 2023) Aviation Electronics Mate 3rd Class Bryce Dillon, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, performs maintenance on the engine of an F/A-18E Super Hornet, assigned to the “Golden Dragons” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 192, in the hangar bay of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1’s flagship, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. Integrated exercises prepare our Sailors to respond quickly. U.S. 3rd Fleet works in close coordination with other numbered fleets to provide commanders with capable, ready forces to deploy forward and win in day-to-day competition, in crisis, and in conflict.
