Musicians from America’s First Corps Band perform alongside their Australian counterparts during an impromptu dinner performance at Vasey Mess Hall during exercise Talisman Sabre 23 at Lavarack Barracks, Queensland, Australia, July 20, 2023. Talisman Sabre 23 is a U.S. Indo-Pacific Command jointly sponsored exercise that trains U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and Australian Defence Forces in a high-end, mid-intensity warfighting scenario involving a Combined Task Force. The mission of U.S. Army Bands is to promote the Army and national interests, enable commanders to shape the environment to accomplish their mission, and set the conditions that lead to trust and confidence in America’s Army and its readiness to conduct operations in peacetime, conflict and war.
