    CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA (July 23, 2023) Officer and chief petty officer covers from the U.S. and Royal Australian Navies await their owners outside of a luncheon given in honor of Sailors from Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Canberra (LCS 30) July 23. Freedom of Entry is an honor granted to military units that bestows the right to parade through the city streets on ceremonial occasions and be present at official functions and ceremonies. In accordance with military law and tradition, this gives the unit the right to march through the streets with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing, and ensign flying.
