Maj. James Horr (right), sergeant major of 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) (MEU(SOC)), during the Corporals Course graduation hosted aboard the ship, Atlantic Ocean, July 25, 2023. The Gung-Ho award is given to the Marine or Sailor who possesses the intellectual honesty and moral courage to put aside self-interest for the good of the team and is selected by fellow students. The 26th MEU(SOC) ran Corporals Course concurrently onboard all three ships of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) which also includes the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) and the Harpers Ferry-class dock landing ship USS Carter Hall (LSD 50).
