Typhon Mawar residential debris collection continues in the northern and southern areas of Guam as the two contractors hired by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to remove the debris work toward the central area of the island.
Residents are asked to separate their eligible storm debris into piles of green waste/vegetative debris, large appliances (refrigerators, freezers, stove, washer/dryer, water heater), and construction and demolition materials from damaged structures, and metals (ferrous and non-ferrous, cans, tin).
Pictured here in Yigo is an example of how the debris should be separated and properly placed in the right of way (ROW) by the road. Ineligible debris includes tires, vehicles, boats, electronic waste, daily household garbage, and household hazardous waste.
USACE is tasked by FEMA and the Government of Guam with the collection of Typhoon Mawar debris. The residential debris project is a free program available for all residential properties.
