230804-N-PQ495-1015 PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 4, 2023) Aviation Structural Mechanic 3rd Class Thang Nguyen, a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, left, and Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Eduardo Rincon, a native of Los Angeles, California, bleed the air out of the hydraulics system of an F/A-18F Super Hornet, assigned to the “Bounty Hunters” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 2, on the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 1’s flagship, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. Integrated exercises prepare our Sailors to respond quickly. U.S. 3rd Fleet works in close coordination with other numbered fleets to provide commanders with capable, ready forces to deploy forward and win in day-to-day competition, in crisis, and in conflict.
