Student scientists at the Joint Science and Technology Institute studied aerodynamics by constructing and testing balsa wood airplanes at the DTRA JSTO-sponsored residential summer program. DTRA JSTO Acting Director COL Christopher Grice visited with the students who participated in authentic STEM experiences covering applied physics, chemistry, math modeling, storytelling, engineering, AI and more. The academy has inspired young scholars to pursue careers in STEM-focused areas, giving them a competitive edge in winning internships and jobs in their chosen field.
