Soldiers assigned to the 552 Military Intelligence Battalion carry a litter while competing in the 552d's inaugural 'TF Stalker' competition. Company D, 522 Military Intelligence Battalion served as the Long Range Surveillance Detachment (LRSD) for the 2d Armored Division during Operation DESERT STORM. They pioneered mobile terrain reconnaissance using civilian pickup trucks that could be transported by CH-47 helicopters. This initiative involved three teams, collectively known as TASK FORCE STALKER, conducting 30-40 mile route reconnaissance missions before being extracted.
