U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 1437th Multi-Role Bridge Company, Sault Saint Marie, Michigan National Guard, use a ribbon bridge as a port for Mackinac Island ferry's to evacuate civilians during an emergency during exercise Operation Safe Harbor, Mackinac, Mich. September 7, 2023. Operation Safe Harbor 23 is the first ever exercise of this type to be executed in Michigan. The exercise included 18 emergency response partners included FEMA, Michigan State Police, Mackinac County Sheriff's Department, the U.S. Coast Guard, and more.
