Meet September’s Copperhead of the month, Staff Sgt. Oscar Rivera, a guidance and control journeyman with the 161st Maintenance Group!
SSgt. Rivera recently graduated from the 365th Training Squadron Heavies Avionics Maintenance Course. He was the top of his class, earning a perfect 100% GPA across 10 Blocks and 85 days of training. He also perfectly passed 105 performance checks during the course.
He is a first generation American and the first in his family to serve in the armed forces, spending six years in the Marine Corps before joining the Air National Guard.
“It’s a really good feeling to received this type of recognition. It makes me hopeful for my future in this organization and I’m excited to apply what I learned to my career field.”
