The Egyptian Armed Forces, U.S. Special Operations Forces, and multiple partner nations’ forces discuss host nation and partner nation placement for future missions during a Table Top Exercise at Exercise Bright Star 2023, Sept. 9, in Mohamed Naguib Base, Egypt. Exercise BRIGHT STAR 23 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) command-post exercise, field training exercise and senior leader seminar, held in the Arab Republic of Egypt along with other partner nations. Participation strengthens military-to-military partnerships between U.S. forces and our Egyptian partners in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, as well as other participating nations. The exercisew enhances regional security and stability by responding to modern-day security scenarios. Approximately 1500 U.S. military service members will participate in BRIGHT STAR, focusing on regional security and cooperation, while promoting interoperability in conventional and irregular warfare scenarios.
