CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (September 11, 2023) Service members salute the American flag during Camp Lemonnier's 9/11 commemoration ceremony, Sept. 11. Following the Sept. 11 attacks, Camp Lemonnier was established as the headquarters of Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa to conduct counter-terrorist operations in the region. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa, and Southwest Asia.
