U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Deonna Grove, a fixed-wing mechanic with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 542, salutes Maj. Daniel Belet, an F-35B Lightning II jet pilot, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, Sept. 12, 2023. The Naval Weapons System Evaluation Program allowed VMFA-542 to safely conduct the loading and firing of live missiles at threat-realistic targets to test the squadrons' ability, flexibility, and procedures while repositioned in unfamiliar locations.
