Vandi Leheny, center front, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Forth Worth District project manager and the USACE mission manager in charge of the organization’s debris recovery efforts, leads a command and staff team including Brig. Gen. Kirk E. Gibbs, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pacific Ocean Division commander, and other USACE leaders on a survey of fire-damaged areas in Lāhainā, Hawai‘i, Sept. 12.
USACE is actively supporting Maui County, the state of Hawai’i and FEMA by providing temporary power, coordinating recovery efforts for critical public facilities and the county's debris removal efforts from areas impacted by the Aug. 8, wildfires. As mission manager, Leheny oversees the debris team operations on Maui.
