    Betty Bond, center, widow of Lt. Gen. Robert Bond, and daughter Pamela Bond Lunger help then-Arnold Engineering Development Complex Commander Col. Philip Conran unveil the bronze plaque dedicating the static display F-105 Thunderchief to Bond Nov. 9, 1984. The static display is located at the Main Gate of Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., headquarters of AEDC. Bond was killed on April 26, 1984, when the aircraft he was piloting crashed at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. The F-105 honoring Bond was the first static display to be dedicated at Arnold.
