U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jonathon Vanek, 51st Operations Support Squadron noncommissioned officer in charge of squadron aviation resource management, and Maj. Nicolas Dewulf, 36th Fighter Squadron director of operations, prepare pre-flight documents ahead of departure for Cope Taufan 23 at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Sept. 18, 2023. CTFN23 is a routine training exercise partnered with the Royal Malaysian Air Force and is intended to improve U.S. and Malaysian readiness while reinforcing U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s theater security campaign goals in southeast Asia.
