After 30 years since black hawk down, the 10th Mountain Division, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1-87 Infantry Battalion honors veterans for their heroics during the Battle of Mogadishu by presenting them with their combat action badges on the 1-87 Infantry Battalion area of operation. On October 3, 1993, 3rd platoon, Charlie Company, 1-87 Infantry was dispatched as a quick reaction force to secure a crash site in the city of Somalia that resulted in a daylight raid conducted by the Ranger Task Force in an attempt to seize a Somalian Warlord.
