U.S. Soldiers with the 678th Air Defense Artillery Brigade (ADA), 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, South Carolina Army National Guard, conduct a deployment departure ceremony Oct. 7, 2023, McEntire Joint National Guard Base, Eastover, South Carolina. The 678th ADA will deploy to the National Capital Region as Task Force Bulldog, Integrated Air Defense System Task Force command and control for the National Capital Region (NCR) of the Integrated Air Defense System (NCR-IADS) homeland defense mission. This is the 678th ADA’s fourth rotation in support of Operation Noble Eagle in the last nine years. As an element of the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the Joint Air Defense Operations Center, the NCR-IADS operates and trains throughout the NCR to protect it against all aerial threats.
