U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Mitchell Hartman, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) technician short term individual augmentee (STIA), surveys an area during a recovery mission in Laos, Sept. 30, 2023. EOD technicians are responsible for sweeping designated excavation areas and safety assessments of unexploded ordnance (UXO) on site.
