U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Lee LeGrande drills holes in a board to be used for a new park bench April 17, 2012, in New Orleans while volunteering for the nonprofit organization Hike for KaTREEna. The group was created to replace the estimated 100,000 trees the area lost in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The volunteer event ran concurrently with NOLA Navy Week, in which New Orleans served as the inaugural city in a three-year national celebration commemorating the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star-Spangled Banner.
